MODULE 1: 25HR TRADITIONAL RESTORATIVE:

CONTENT SUMMARY:

Hiiro’s 25hr Restorative Yoga Teacher Training is wonderful. I had limited experience with Restorative Yoga beforehand, but after more than a decade of teaching (and almost as many years being involved in as a teacher both in a guest role and lead position in 200hr trainings), I decided to expand my skillset. Hiiro’s grasp of the concepts of Restorative Yoga is thorough, yet his delivery is accessible and easily understood – and I believe this is the mark of an advanced teacher. To be able to translate the depths of a system in a meaningful yet digestible format is a subtle art, which I believe Hiiro has a strong awareness of. He inspired me to look at the practice of Yoga in a different way, and that is a special gift to offer. I strongly endorse his teachings and believe anyone and everyone could benefit from studying underneath Hiiro. – Steve Fazzari, alumni

☆ Students will be oriented and educated about the Traditional Restorative lineage and the components required to facilitate a full class.

☆ They will understand the fundamental applications of the nervous system including how to engage the Natural Relaxation Response through optimal sequencing of Restorative asanas. This will involve anatomy of the spine/pelvis and potential injuries, common misalignments and contraindications that may present themselves while leading private/public classes.

☆ What exactly differentiates Restorative from Yin Yoga and WHY is it important to understand their complementary and contrasting purposes anatomically/energetically.

☆ Experiential and embodied learning is the core of this curriculum in order to provide students a personalized and individual discovery into their own body/mind/heart/spirit.

☆ There will be a balance of interactive discussions and popcorn style Q & A ensuring students are able to provide and contribute their insights and knowledge to the whole group. This will be an integral part of everyone’s learning and feeling inclusive amongst each other.

☆ We will cover the local sphere of teaching restorative classes in public studios and private settings, how do you establish your teaching within the Restorative lineage and style.

MODULE 2: 25HR THERAPEUTIC RESTORATIVE
CONTENT SUMMARY:

☆ The content in this 2nd part will be centred around applications of therapeutic active / gentle yoga and integrating into the passive traditional restorative framework.

☆ There will be emphasis on SMR (Self Myofascial Release), ROM (Range of Motion) sequencing and routines that will applied into the Active and Focused phases prior to the Passive phase in the class plan.

☆ Additional discussions centred around further refining restorative asanas, hands-on assists/adjustment and enhancements, supporting students with trauma & mental/emotional sensitivities.

☆ Students will be able to create and lead a Therapeutic Restorative class encompassing the 3 phases and integrating a variety of props, mindfulness/meditation and pranayama techniques/principles.
